“I really want to step inside that dentist office,” is something no one has ever said. Well, maybe except about this one.
This is Luxin [樂心牙醫], a dental and orthodontic practice located in Guishan District in Taoyuan City. It’s designed by Taipei-based, Belgian architect, Germain Canon, along with industrial designer, Mengshu Li.
The design of the space is calm and friendly, filled with natural light, bright colors and natural materials. In other words, a dentist’s office where you can actually relax.
The reception area looks nothing like any dentist’s office I’ve been to anywhere.
And the waiting area is designed to look and feel like a comfortable living room. Very Muji, right?
This open floor plan with partitions looks way less intimidating than being enclosed in a tight room with your dentist.
The hospital vibe is totally absent from this bathroom. I love the colorful zigzag tiling and the wall of toothbrush holders is total genius. I’d love to have this bathroom in my house.
Architect Germain Canon is also an illustrator and photographer. He designed the identity and print materials for the dental practice as well, from business cards to patient forms. You can see more of his work here.
